EDINBURG, Texas (August 27, 2018) — The United Soccer League announced on Tuesday that Rio Grande Valley FC goalkeeper Tyler Deric has been named to the USL Team of the Week for Week 24 of the 2018 season.
Deric recorded a seven-save shutout in the Toros’ 2-0 victory this past Saturday on the road against Orange County SC, leading the side’s first away win of the season. The shutout was the 10th overall by the Toros this season, which puts the team tied for eighth in the USL in that category.
The Toros return to action on Wednesday night at H-E-B Park as they host South Texas Derby rival San Antonio FC in the USL Game of the Week, which will air on ESPN3. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. CT and tickets can be purchased at https://www.rgvfc.com/tickets.
