EDINBURG, Texas (August 15, 2020) – The Houston Dynamo announced today that defenders Kyle Adams and Erik McCue will join Rio Grande Valley FC on loan for the remainder of the 2020 USL Championship season. The Dynamo retain the right to recall both player’s loans.
Adams signed with the Dynamo in January after two seasons as the captain of RGV. The 23-year-old has appeared in 55 games for the Toros, including three matches during the 2020 USL Championship season. The defender led RGV in clearances with 109 and finished second in blocked shots with 22 last season. Adams finished with 45 interceptions and 112 clearances in his first season with the club in 2018.
McCue joined Adams and the Dynamo in Orlando earlier this summer for the MLS is Back Tournament. The Dynamo Academy product also joined RGV FC for the opening game of the 2020 USL Championship season against LA Galaxy II at H-E-B Park on March 8. The 19-year-old entered the game in the second half to earn his fourth appearance for the club.
