RGV FC Toros played to a 2-2 draw against Swope Park Rangers in the final regular season home game. Joseph Holland scored the first goal in the 7th minute and Kyle Murphy scored in the 64th minute.

The Toros came off to a hot start. In the 7th minute, Justin Bilyeu dribbled through the left side of the field and found Joseph Holland inside the penalty box. Holland sneaked the ball near the first post to score the first goal of the night.

Swope Park Rangers almost found an equalizer in the 38th minute. Kharlton Belmar’s right-footed shot barely missed the right side of the goal. The Toros held on to the lead and ended the first half up 1-0.

Borja Angoitia denied Swope Park Rangers from scoring in the 51st minute. Angoitia faced Belmar one-on-one but was able to block his shot. A long pass from Omar Ontiveros enabled Kyle Murphy to split the Rangers defense and find the second goal of the night for the RGV FC Toros. The goal was Murphy’s sixth goal in the season. Ontiveros collected an assist in his debut for the Toros and in his hometown.

Swope Park Rangers found their first goal off a Toros defensive blunder. Kevin Garcia tapped the ball into his own net when trying to deflect a Rangers’ cross in the 75th minute. Kharlton Belmar found the equalizer in stoppage time. A through ball left him one-on-one against Angoitia, who denied the initial attempt. Belmar headed in the rebound towards the empty net to tie things up at H-E-B Park.

The RGV FC Toros hit the road next week and will face Phoenix Rising FC on October 7th. That game will kick off at 8:30p.m.
