By Toros Communications , 09/28/18, 11:45AM CDT

EDINBURG, Texas (September 29, 2018) — Rio Grande Valley FC (6-13-12, 31 points) will take on Fresno FC (8-12-11, 36 points) at H-E-B Park on Saturday, September 29. Kickoff will be at 7 p.m. The match will be broadcast on ESPN+.

RGV FC returns home to host their final home match of the regular season. The Toros are coming off a tough loss to Reno 1868 FC, 0-4. The road trip was not as planned for the team, but they look to regroup and continue to play with heart and passion for the home crowd. Head Coach Gerson Echeverry commented on Saturdays matchup; “We want to make sure that our last home game we come out with a positive mentality, with a positive influence and take the right step forward.” Echeverry then went on to thank the RGV faithful for their support, “Thank you to our fans for their loyalty, for keeping us always going, for being so loyal and giving us the energy to do well at home.”

Fresno FC is seeking to spoil the home party for the RGV FC Toros, however they have seen struggles of their own in the past days. A late equalizer secured the single point for the Foxes in an otherwise certain loss to Portland Timbers 2. The 2-2 draw marks the 12th tie this season for Fresno FC.

RGV FC Forward Aldo Quintanilla gave his thoughts on the upcoming match, “It is going to be a great game and we hope that things go as we would like so we can close out the season at home the right way.” As the season winds down the Toros continue to strive for good results and pleasing the supporters. The evenly matched game will be a true test for Echeverry and his squad on just how hungry they are to finish strong. Brandon Morales, first Toros academy player to sign a first team contract, made his USL debut with RGVFC at home on September 22 and gave his thoughts on how special it is to play close to his hometown. “Playing at home is a blessing. All my friends and family will be in attendance supporting the team.”

Make sure to catch the Toros in action one last time at home this season. The Toros will also be giving away Mr. Toro bobbleheads to the first 600 attendees.
