The RGV FC Toros and RGV FC Academy get ready to kick off the RGV FC Winter Cup, powered by Spornado. The soccer tournament, that includes over 90 teams from 12 different age groups, will start on Friday, December 2 and will conclude on Sunday, December 4.
The practice fields at H-E-B Park, H-E-B Park’s recreational fields and fields inside the Edinburg Municipal Park will host eleven versus eleven, eight versus eight, and seven versus seven, and five versus five games. Inauguration for the tournament will commence at 6 p.m. at our H-E-B Park amphitheater.
Structure for the tournament consists of group play, with each team playing at least 3 games, followed by knockouts. The first game will kick-off at 7 p.m. Group stage play will continue throughout Saturday. Semifinal and Finals will be played on Sunday. The inaugural tournament will be the first of many tournaments to come. The RGV FC Academy are devoted to bringing top-level tournaments to the Rio Grande Valley region and further develop the youth in the region.
The RGV FC Winter Cup will feature boy teams from the under-6 through under-19 age group. The girls division will have under-9 through under-17 age groups. Fans can engage and follow the tournament throughout out various Rio Grande Valley FC Toros and RGV FC Academy social media platforms.
